• To actively support local welfare agencies to help local homeless.
• To fundraise these projects via donations, fundraising, matching grant projects, corporate inkind, anything.
• To engage Rotarians world-wide and their sphere of influence about the reality of homelessness.
The Rotarian Action Group from various Rotary Clubs and their Districts will get involved in projects to help raise funds to supply welfare agencies in their local communities with much needed provisions for homeless such as emergency bedding, blankets, hygiene packs and medical packs.
Your local welfare agency that you have locally fundraised for will be responsible for handing out the emergency relief items to local homeless. In addition these agencies will return feedback which may be used to disseminate information to better understand homelessness.
See how it will work here . . . being turned away from shelter tonight
Imagine for one moment . . .
• To promote and publicise an awareness of the plight of homelessness.
• To globally bring together like-minded people who want to impact the homelessness in their local community.
• To give proven and safe emergency relief items which improve the health, comfort, self esteem, warmth, dignity and safety to homeless people who have no shelter.
• To create an environment in which an appropriate and consistent response can be provided to any person who has no shelter.
• To influence relevant policy makers to consider the rights of the homeless.
• To remind governments of their ethical responsibility in regards to the rights of homelessness in their own local communities, counties and countries.
This proposed Rotarian Action Group has been created to provide support and develop an international network of local projects to save local homeless lives - in your local community.
